In accordance with the Indonesian Police Chief Instruction No. Pol / 02 / XII / 95 regarding Licensing and Notification (JUKLAP Kapolri No. Pol / 02 / XII / 95 tentang perijinan dan pemberitahuan), Indonesian Law No. 09 Year 1992 regarding Immigration (UU Nomor 9 Tahun 1992 Tentang Keimigrasian) and Indonesian Government Regulation No. 31 Year 1994 regarding Alien Control Measures and Immigration (PP Nomor 31 tahun 1994 Tentang Pengawasan Orang Asing dan Tindakan Keimigrasian ) Every Indonesian citizen or organization who hosts an Expatriate is obliged to report the visit to Local Police Station (Polres) and obtain Police Report Certificate (STM – Surant Tanda Melapor).
Following are the documents required to obtain the STM:
- Copy of Passport of the Expatriate
- Copy of KITAS of the Expatriate
- Application Letter
- Letter of Guarantee
- Copy of ID Card (KTP) of Indonesian host
- Copy of Family Register (Kartu Keluarga) of Indonesian host
It usually take only 1-2 working days to obtain the STM.
Hi, I just want to ask if what other documents/permits do I need in working as a consultant in Indonesia for Geothermal Power Projects. I have already in my Position the following documents:
1. KITAS
2. Kementerian Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi R.I. Keputusan Menteri Tenaga Kerja dan Transmigrasi
3. Surat Keterangan Jalan/Travelling Permit

Sebenarnya berapa lama masa berlaku STM ini? Saya dengar di Jakarta STM bisa berlaku selama 1 tahun. Tapi di Kabupaten tempat saya tinggal, kami diminta untuk memperbarui STM ini satu bulan atau dua bulan sekali. Mohon informasinya.
